Hi,Do you perform an inplace upgrade or a clean install? How do you change the owenership? Generally, we need to take ownership of the folder to delete it. As I know, deleting $.windows.~bt folder happens after Windows PE phase. If $windows.bt can't be deleted, Windows PE may be unsuccessful. I recommend you to perform a clean install on another partition to see how it works. Best RegardsDale

Changed ownership twice, no avail. Emptied Temp folder, still can't delete. Gave every single user (not many on there, but still) full permissions and I STILL can't delete or rename the folder. Patience wearing thin and I can't do a clean install ... god I want to be rid of Vista finally. Help?
